For any of you that have read one or more of my posts, it will be obvious that I have a relatively large liquor cabinet. Unfortunately, a good portion of my cabinet is dedicated to what falls more into the liqueur category than what is actually standard liquor. So, once in a while I need to re-stock and when I do, there is a set of ‘must-haves’ (and some of their popular cocktails) that I always gravitate to:

Cognac: Sidecar, Brandy Alexander, Vieux Carré

White Rum: Mojito, Daiquiri, Between the Sheets

Gin: Gibson, Martini, Gin and Tonic, Alexander, Gin Fizz

Bourbon: Manhattan, Old Fashioned, Mint Julep, Whiskey Sour

Vodka: Vodka Martini, Screwdriver, Bloody Mary, Cosmopolitan

Tequila: Margaritas, Tequila Sunrise, Long Island Iced Tea

Using some of these classic ingredients, I have created a cocktail menu (8 cocktails) that you can give to your guests when they arrive, just like you were running an actual bar, and lists of the recipes and ingredients/tools required to make said cocktails. Get ’em here:

I would love to hear any of your comments on this style of article, as I am thinking about doing several more in the future (e.g. Martinis, Summer Party Cocktails, Shooters, Margaritas). It is certainly fun for me, but more importantly, it needs to be fun for you :).
